Overview
Dyfed-Powys Police (DPP) safeguard people living, working and visiting the Counties of Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and Powys.
The area served by Dyfed-Powys Police includes Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and Powys. It has a population of over 488,000, that is significantly boosted with tourists each year, and covers a land mass of over half of Wales.
DPP currently has circa 73 police stations, specialist buildings providing critical emergency and support services and a number of mast sites.
Evbex was employed to undertake a comprehensive review of the Estates and Facilities function. This had not changed for over 20 years, It was considered to be ‘not-fit’ for purpose and a major overhaul was required to ensure that it could meet the needs of the Police Department and the requirements of an ageing building stock.
Evbex undertook an independent review through stakeholder interviews, system and process reviews and benchmarking against industry standards. This identified performance and compliance indices which were measured against best practice. The whole process identified gaps to which Evbex developed a prioritised improvement plan across to cover improvement across all services.
The plan included the re-defining of job roles throughout, changes in working practices and the outsourcing of all FM services across the portfolio.
Evbex is currently delivering the outsourced solution to DPP.
It is considered that Evbex input has enabled the DPP’s Estates and Facilities division to improve beyond recognition now projecting a totally professional FM service based on best practice and best value that now fully meets the needs of its stakeholders and its buildings.
