Welsh Water

FM Consultancy Services

Overview

Welsh Water is the sixth largest of the ten regulated water and sewerage companies in England and Wales. Responsible for providing over three million people with a continuous, high quality supply of drinking water and for taking away, treating and properly disposing of the wastewater that is produced, we are fully committed to delivering best quality service at least possible cost.

Evbex was appointed to propose a new FM strategy and operating model based on an Integrated TFM solution that would be agile and respond to customer needs covering circa 40 buildings located in a wide geographical area across Wales.

Key objectives included the procurement of an IFM outsourced service partner; to establish tangible cost savings and working efficiencies; manage and mitigate risks and improve performance.

An Agile FM model was developed by Evbex which provided a ‘pick and mix’ FM service offering which could be selected by representatives from each individual building.

The FM Tender, delivered and managed by Evbex produced a favourable outcome in terms of a solution based on best value. Evbex however delivered further value through a final mini competition based on ‘Best and Final Offer’, This enabled Welsh Water to fine tune their precise ‘post tender’ requirements, based on the original tender submissions.

This exercise proved invaluable as the total cost savings established was in excess of 15% of the previous costs.

Evbex continues to provide a range of FM support services to Welsh Water, including part-time contract administrative support, auditing and compliance reviews. Evbex also supports Welsh Water by leading the Monthly Management meetings between the Welsh Water and the FM Supplier.
